Using the battery
Installing the battery
First, flip open the lock cover, unlock the battery compartment with the key, and open
the battery compartment cover.
Then, orient the battery as shown in the diagram and slide the battery into the compartment,
pushing it firmly down until it stops.
Close the battery compartment cover and lock it.
You must lock the battery compartment cover closed before riding the bike. If it is
unlocked, the battery could disengage while you ride, causing loss of power.
Removing the battery
To remove the battery, open the battery compartment cover, then pull the battery straight
out of the rack by the handle.
Turning the bike on and off
To turn the bike on...
Press the control pad power button ( ).
To turn the bike off...
Press the control pad power button ( )
two times. After the first press, the bike will enter
assistance level 0, showing ‘0’ on the display’s assist level indicator; see “Assist levels” on
page 12 below. After the second press, the bike will turn off.
