S/PDIF Audio Connector
Function: A digital connector for connecting external 5.1
audio devices to the onboard AC ‘97 audio subsystem.
Description: The connector has a composite signal which
includes the audio channels of a 5.1 speaker system, in-
cluding:
• Front Left/Right Speakers
• Rear Left/Right Speakers
• Center Channel Speaker
• Subwoofer
The S/PDIF connector must be connected to a digital de-
coder that splits the audio signal and directs it to the vari-
ous audio channels.
