SECT: 1.09
INSTALLATION
Selection and installation of the Vent-Tech Model SWG Series C-B-V-N Air relief valves should be
made with careful review by the system engineers. Critical elements of a successful air relief
valve installation are recommended below:
1.
Install isolation valves below each air valve. These can be supplied by International Valve
Marketing, LLC (IVM). If supplied by IVM, they shall be 316 SS – full port ball valves.
2.
Install an air collector Tee underneath the isolation valve. The dimension of the valve end of
the Tee should not be less than ½ the diameter of the main pipe line.
3.
Install rubber sealing gaskets between each mating flange surface to ensure leak-proof
assembly as per industry standard practice.
4.
An installed Vent-Tech Model SWG valve should not be misaligned greater than 7 degrees
from center.
5.
Fasteners should be tightened to the recommended torque specified in Table 1. Care should
be taken to not over torque or under-torque these fasteners. An appropriate fastener
engineer should be consulted if necessary.
