6.6.13.4 Radial ring clearances for enclosed impellers
Reasons for performing impeller clearance checks
Enclosed impellers require a close radial clearance between the impeller and case wear rings in order for
the pump to operate at maximum efficiency. Over time, pump performance may degrade due to normal
wear in this area. If an individual part is out of specification, it should be replaced.
