4.19.2. Monitoring and Control via iRZ Collector
When the modem operates in the Server mode, data from an external device can be received directly with-
out a "layer" in the form of the iRZ Collector server application. However the iRZ Collector software solution en-
ables the modems to be monitored and controlled
1
via the iRZ Collector dispatching application. In this case the
server modem is monitored and controlled in the same way as the client modem since the modem is still a cli-
ent in relation to the iRZ Collector server (see Fig. 4.8).
When the command for the settings change and the firmware update is received from iRZ Collector, the
server modem terminates all connections and switches to the
Client
mode. After setting up / updating the firm-
ware, the modem returns to the
Server
mode and opens the port for incoming connections.
The operation of the server modem with the iRZ Collector server can be set up in the tab
Settings → Basic
of the ATM Control application. Check the box for the
Control via iRZ Collector
option and specify an IP ad-
dress and port of the iRZ Collector server.

4.19.3. TCP/IP Connection Control
To establish test connection check, the server modem can connect to two public servers. When using iRZ
Collector, test connection is available only with one public server.
If the modem is unable to connect to any of the test servers (or TCP/IP connection control is disabled), the
modem closes an incoming connection port and opens it again.
