These two steps should significantly reduce the possibility of galvanic corrosion and structural failure of the
adaptor mounting bracket.

ODU Mounting

There is more than one approach that can be taken to install the ODU. The installation of the ODU is dependent
on the mounting location. Follow these generic steps to install the ODU using the recommended mounting
adaptor bracket:

Note: Apply a sealant such as 3-M brand 5200 adhesive, or equivalent, to cover all the fasteners and areas
between the flanges to assist in galvanic corrosion protection.

1. Fasten mounting bracket to a mounting pole (user supplied) per “Recommended Stand Mounting”

instructions below and in Appendix E. If you need to make an adaptor plate, use the bolt holes in the
mounting bracket as a template.

See Figure 24 for parts lisng and responsible party for supply.

2. Fasten ODU radome to mounting bracket per “Radome Mounting” steps below and in Appendix E.

Note:

The ODU/IDU cable must be grounded by electrical clips on the RJ-45 metal housing prior to connecting

the cable to the ODU. The clips can be removed once the ground cable has been installed from the ODU to the
ground connection (non-electrical system ground).
