Connect a Terminal or PC to the Console Port 

The console port is a service port to which you can connect a terminal or PC in order to configure the software by 
using the command line interface. To connect a terminal or PC to the console port, follow the steps: 

 

1.

 

Connect the RJ-45 patch cable to the gateway’s console port and RJ45-DB9 adapter. 

2.

 

Connect the DB-9 connector to at terminal or PC. 

Connect LAN to the Ethernet Port 

To connect DEX28 to local area network, follow the steps: 

 

1.

 

Connect one end of the RJ-45 patch cable to the gateway’s Ethernet port. 

2.

 

Connect the other end of the RJ-45 patch cable to Ethernet hub/switch directly. Connection can be also 
made indirectly through patch panel or wall outlet. 

Connect the Power and Turn-On the Gateway 

 

Caution:  

Be sure to use the power supply that was supplied with your DEX28 gateway.

 

 
To connect the AC adapter to the DEX28 gateway and turn it on, follow the steps: 

 

1.

 

Connect one end of the power supply cable to the gateway’s input jack. 

2.

 

Connect the other end of the power supply cable to the desktop power adapter. 

3.

 

Plug the power cord of the desktop power adapter into an electrical outlet. 

The blue LED on the front panel of the gateway lights when you connect the gateway to a power source. The 
gateway is now ready to be used. If the blue LED does not turn on, refer to the “Troubleshooting the gateway” 
chapter.
