
5.3.2 Raising/Lowering a Hydraulic Lift
The pump handle and control valve are used to raise or
lower the hydraulic lift.
Refer to the safety information in the Introduction of
the Usage section before performing this procedure.
There are two controls on the pump assembly:

The control valve

The pump handle

To raise the lift:
1.
Turn the control valve

clockwise to the CLOSED
position.
2.
Move the pump handle

up and down to elevate the
boom

To lower the lift:
1.
Turn the control valve
A
counterclockwise to the OPEN
position.
2.
The weight of the patient in the sling

will cause the
boom to descend.
3.
If there is no patient in the sling, pull down on the
boom
C
.
The rate of descent of the boom is controlled by the
amount that the control valve is open.
A safety gate is part of the hydraulic system
that controls the maximum descent of the boom
regardless of how far the control valve is opened.
