5 Maintenance / Disposal
NOTE!
Regular maintenance by your intimus service
partner is recommended.
5 .1 To change the oil container
Cross-cut cutting mechanisms must be oiled regularly
after a certain period of operation. This is done auto-
matically by the integrated oiler.
If the control display
(Fig. 5/7) flashes, this means
that the oil container (Fig. 10/3) is empty and must be
replaced with a full container. The motor switches off.
NOTE!
To complete the shredding process when the
motor is switched off, press and hold the for-
ward button (Fig. 5/2).
This process can only be activated once.

Fig. 11 Cleaning the photocells
If paper particles should come to rest in the inlet gui-
de (for example after a paper jam) it is possible that
the machine will not turn off, due to the broken light
barrier.
To remove these paper strips and also to clean the
photocell, pass another sheet of paper through the
feed slot, or switch the machine off and wipe both
“eyes” of the photocell with a brush (Fig. 11).
5 .3 Automatic energy saving
If the machine is not in use, it automatically turns off
after about 15 min. The LED display on the function
button (Fig. 5/1) goes out to indicate "ready for opera-
tion." To reset, briefly press the function button.
5 .4 Disposal of the machine
Always dispose of the machine at the end of its
service life in an environmentally responsible
way. Do not toss any part of the machine or its
packaging into the garbage.
