3 .3 Front feed slot operator unit
The shredding procedure starts as soon as material is
fed into the front feed slot.
At the same time the integral forward button LED dis-
play comes on (Fig. 5/2).
3 .4 Turning the machine on
Briefly press the function button (Fig. 5/1).

The LED display on the function button lights
up to indicate "ready for operation."
¾
You can now operate the machine.
3 .5 Starting the shredding process

CAUTION!
Risk of injury! Damage to the machine!
Empty the content of the plastic bottles be-
fore shredding them. There may be fumes
from crushing. The cutting unit may stick
together.
NOTE!
For shredding syringes, CDs/DVDs, crumpled
paper and plastic cards please also use the top
feed slot. You may shred up to 4 CDs at once.

Push the safety glass back.

For best performance feed the material about half
way into the cutting mechanism.
3 .
Close the safety glass again.

The shredding process starts automatically.
¾
After 25 seconds the machine shuts off automa-
tically.

In case of remaining material press the forward
button once.

The machine runs for 15 more seconds.
NOTE!
While shredding, repeated reversing (swit-
ching between forward and backward ope-
ration) is normal. This is part of the shredding
process and does not indicate a failure.

Feed paper to the cutting mechanism through the
front feed slot.

Machine switches automatically to forward and
draws paper in.
¾
The motor switches off automatically after
shredding.
NOTE!
For shredding transparent films, the machine
must be manually switched to forwards
running (press and hold the forwards button
(Fig. 5/2)).
"Cutting mechanism ready" / "Cutting mechanism
not ready" indicator (Fig . 5
/9)
The curved pilot lamps (Fig. 5/9) show whether materi-
al can be fed into the machine or not:
• Green light: machine is ready or running at optimal
condition!
The cutting mechanism can be fed.
• Red light: machine is busy!
The cutting mechanism is already working and
cannot be fed.
Stopping the shredding process manually
The shredding process can be manually stopped at any
time by briefly pressing the function button (Fig. 5/1)
or the reverse button (Fig. 5/5).
NOTE!
After 15 min without use the machine auto-
matically switches to standby mode.
3 .6 Switching the machine off
Press and hold the function button (Fig. 5/1) for about
3 seconds.

The machine turns off.
