Guide Plates, Dismantling
The upper guide plate is threaded onto the LSS unit and held to the
lower guide plate by a pin and a snap-lock. To remove the upper
guide plate, just pull it straight out.
The lower guide plate is held in place by two studs, that fi t holes
in the inner gable of the print unit, and a snap-lock, that fi ts a rect-
angular hole in the lower outer gable. To remove the guide plate,
press the snap-lock, for example with a coin or screwdriver, and lift
the outer end free before carefully pulling out the guide plate.
Guide Plates, Cleaning
The rectangular areas with a smooth surfaces on each guide plate
are actually windows, which are transparent to the light emitted by
the LSS. These areas must be kept free from dust, stuck labels, and
adhesive residue. Only use isopropyl alcohol for cleaning.

Do not loosen this screw,
see Caution notice!
CAUTION!
The alignment of the platen roller is
kept by the center screw in the outer
lower gable plus at least one of the
other two screws. Never loosen the
center screw, and never loosen both
the other two screws at the same time,
or the alignment may be lost!
