The message is displayed on the screen or on the Error Manager screen. The
system continues booting in a degraded state. The user may want to replace the
erroneous unit. The POST Error Pause option setting in the BIOS setup does not have
any effect on this error.

ƒ Adjusts all processor frequencies to lowest common
denominator.
ƒ No error is generated –
this is not an error condition.
ƒ Continues to boot the system successfully.
If the frequencies for all processors
cannot be adjusted to be the
same,
then the BIOS:
ƒ Logs the error.
ƒ Displays “0197: Processor 0x family is not supported” message in
the Error Manager.
ƒ Takes Fatal Error action (see above) and will not boot until the
fault condition is remedied.
