Using your iron
Using your iron for the first time
Some parts of the iron have been slightly greased and, as a result, the iron
may smoke slightly when turned on for the first time. This stops after a few
uses.

Remove any protective films or stickers from the sole plate and the
body of the iron. Clean the sole plate with a soft cloth.

Test the iron on an old piece of fabric to make sure that the sole plate
and water reservoir are completely clean.
Setting the temperature control

Always check the garment label for ironing instructions before ironing
the garment.
•
If the ironing instructions are missing, use the table below to set the
temperature.
•
Sort your laundry into fabric types (wool with wool, cotton with
cotton, and so on), then iron the fabrics requiring the lowest
temperature setting first, then progress to fabrics that require higher
temperatures (the iron heats up quicker than it cools down).
•
If the fabric consists of various kinds of fibers (such as cotton with
polyester), always select the ironing temperature for the material with
the lowest advised temperature.
