2.7.1 PoE Power Rating and Forwarding Specification
This section describes power forwarding capabilities of the LPS1000. In IEEE 802.3af
standards, it specifies 15.4 watts of power budget for a powered device system. In many
applications, 15.4 watts is not sufficient to power the more demanding PoE equipment. The
LPS1000 is designed to support high power output, up to 100 watts of total power and up to 30
watts of PoE power per port at 48VDC. The following information reflects important PoE
power forwarding capabilities of the LPS1000.
