QUICK RECEIVER SETUP
The AARON 650 may be placed in operation in very short order.
In situations with a healthy incoming signal, you can probably
accept factory-default setup options and values. Of course the
receiver must be tuned to the incoming carrier, but for straight-
forward pass-through-mode operation in a typical FM translator
application, just set the MPX or line output level to match the
input sensitivity of the FM exciter and assure proper carrier re-
modulation.
REGIONAL SETTINGS
From the Main Menu, navigate to:
Setup / Region
. This accesses
three settings that, once set, can generally be forgotten. Here
you can set the main

200kHz

100kHz
or
10kHz
in-
tervals; the program
De-emph
(de-emphasis) to either the
75µs
or
50µs
(microsecond) rolloff characteristic; and the proper
RadioData registers for the European
RDS
or North American
RBDS
standards.
TUNING AND PRESETS
Tuning the
AARON 650
From the Main Menu navi-
gate to
Tuner
. (Menu naviga-
tion is explained on Page 11.)
Turn
the knob to bracket the
receive frequency,
push
the
knob to enter the edit mode, and then
turn
the knob to dial-in
the desired frequency.
Push
the knob again to set this frequen-
cy in memory and return you to command of the
Tuner
screen.
Check that the correct antenna input is selected, either
Anten-
na 1
or
Antenna 2
.
Station Presets
The AARON 650 has ten station presets. This memory function
keeps track of frequency and antenna selection, Reception Tool
settings and signal alarm setup options for each individual pre-
set.
From the Main Menu jump down to
Preset Stations
and
push
the
knob. Highlight
Save Preset
at the top of the list and
push
the
knob again. This will open the data-entry field shown here,
where you can name the pre-
set with station call letters or
other identifier of your
choice. Just
turn
and
push
the knob to enter characters
one at a time. Highlight and
push
Backspace
to correct any er-
rors, and when the field is complete, highlight and push
Save
.
