Operation

(continued):

4.

Position the HFL directly behind the fallen patient, with the Mounting Ramp Seat

positioned as close to the fallen patient’s buttocks as possible.

5.

Have the fallen patient scoot themselves backwards into the Mounting Ramp Seat. NOTE: If

the fallen patient has difficulty scooting backwards onto the Mounting Ramp, skip to the

Mount Assist Procedure,

starting on Page 9.

6.

Once the fallen patient is fully seated to the rear of the HFL seat, instruct them to place their

hands on the seat handles and tell them you are about to raise the seat. Once they are ready,

press and hold the up button, as indicated by the arrow on the Wired Remote. The seat will

rise for approximately forty-five seconds and then stop.

Independently scooting onto the HFL

7.

Once the Lift has stopped, the recovered patient can either stand right up, rest and then

stand up at their leisure, or transfer to a wheelchair or other destination for transport.

a)

If returning the fallen patient to a standing position:

Instruct the patient return to a standing position by using the Rise-Assist Handles as they

would normally get up from a chair with armrests. NOTE: Be prepared to assist the patient

as they rise from the seated position, if needed.

Standing up from the HFL

If necessary, allow the patient to rest before proceeding.

Once the fallen patient has been recovered, remember to return the seat to the fully

downward (home) position before returning the HFL to its storage location.
