Once the part is cut, slightly drag the shield on the part to continue the cut. Try to
maintain a regular rythmn.
GOUGING

With the earth clamp fastened to the part, keep for torch at a 45° angle to the
part, while maintaining the special gouging shield roughly 2mm away from the part
before starting the torch.

Press the torch’s trigger before starting the arc and maintain an angle of 45° to the
part while cutting through the groove.

Push the plasma arc in the direction you wish to cut. Maintain a minimal distance
between the torch’s shield and the melted metal, to avoid consumables’ premature
wear or torch damage.
