BLADE -

Check the perpendicularity between blade and worktable

: this is  very  important and, along  with the blade

tension, it assures straight cuts. Check it the following way: with the sawframe up and at 0° and the vice completely open,
p

ut a square at 90° on the worktable (close to the supporting jaws) and very close to the blade.

While keeping the square still, lower the sawframe until reaching the end-cut point and evaluate if the blade gets
closer to it or farther. Lift the sawframe, move the square towards the operator so that the blade is close to the
higher  extremity  of  the  square,  then  lower  the  sawframe  again  until  reaching  the  end-cut  point  while  always
keeping the square still.

Usually this test allows to single out geometrical errors, but it is even more important in order to ensure that, in case of not
perfectly  perpendicular  cuts,  the  reason  is  not  linked  with  factors  external  to  the  machine  (for  example,  blade  in  a  bad
condition, wrong tension, wrong tooth pitch, excessive pressure during the cut).

17 - MAINTENANCE
Follow regularly the above mentioned operations to keep at best the technical features, the productive features and the
security one anticipated by the manufacturer

17.1 - REPLACEMENT OF THE BAND
This is the more frequent maintenance operation, due to the natural wornout of blade; it is very important for operator or
maintenance technician be sure to replace it in the best manner, with safety method.
Work in cutting position 0 deg., with the saw frame up and the current switched off.
Open the band cover by removing the 4 knob

–6/RI0597-, remove also the  front sliding protection , loosen the band

tensioner by screwing off the front screw

–7/RI0597- and remove the blade.

Be sure that there is no chip or durty on the pulleys, and by considering the cutting direction, stated also by arrow

5/RI0377-, put in the new blade first in the band guide

–2/RI0377-  then on the pulleys –3/RI0377-

with plastic teeth

protection

. Screw the band tensioner

–3/RI0385- and be sure that the back of blade is in contact to the pulleys. As the

blade can’t fall down by the upper supports -4/RI0377-

remove plastic protection

on the teeth. Replace the band cover

carter and the sliding protection again.
