Replacing the Battery
WARNING:
The lithium battery can cause a fire, explosion, or severe burn. Do not recharge it, remove its
polarized connector, disassemble it, heat it above 100°C (212°F), incinerate it, or expose its cell
contents to water. Dispose of the battery as required by local ordinances or regulations. Use only
the battery in the appropriate parts listing. Use of an incorrect battery can result in ignition or explo-
sion of the battery.
TOOLS:
Digital Multimeter
PARTS USED:
CR2032 Lithium Battery
PROCEDURE:
1.
For easy access to the battery remove the Daughter expansion board, if applicable (See page
*DA_REMOVE_DAUGHTER_BOARD*)
2.
The battery holder is located on the motherboard near to the CDROM drive, See figure 1.
3.
Gently pull back the metal arm holding the battery in place and remove.
4.
Using Multimeter, check the voltage of the new battery. Batteries below 3v’s should not be
used.
5.
Carefully push the new battery into the holder.
