• Always keep the extension lead away from the ma-
chine. Remove the plug from the socket and check the
cable regularly for signs of damage or aging. Do not
use the machine with a damaged extension lead.
• If the cable is damaged, it must be replaced by a spe-
cialist in order to prevent accidents.
• Never move the machine by pulling the cable. Do not
move the machine while the motor is running.
•
Before using the shredder for the irst time it must be
assembled properly.
• Only use extension leads which are suitable for the
outdoors.
• Before using the unit ensure that there is no damage
to/problems with the cable.
• Always shut down the shredder before unplugging the
cable and/or extension lead.
• Keep children and animals away from the shredder. All
others must keep a safe distance from the shredder
when it is operating.
• Children or individuals who have not read these in-
structions or who are not familiar with the shredder
may not use the device.
• The user of the device is responsible for third-parties
during operation.
• The shredder may only be used for its intended pur-
pose.
WARNING: This device has a rotating blade.
WARNING: The blades do not stop moving im-
mediately when the device is shut down.
• Before undertaking any repair or cleaning work, shut
down the shredder, remove the plug from the outlet,
and wait until the blade comes to a complete stop.
• You do not have the right to remove or modify electric
or mechanical protection equipment.
• Only use the shredder during daylight or with strong
artiicial light.
• Never place your hands in the feeding funnel or the
ejection opening.
• If the unit emits unusual sounds or vibrations, turn off
the motor and look for the cause. In general, vibrations
are a sign of problems.
• Ensure that the blade is irmly attached before you use
the shredder. The device can only be operated with a
properly installed blade.
• The shredder must be inspected carefully before use.
Only use machines that are in proper functioning or-
der. If you discover any damage on or problems with
the device which could pose a risk to the user, have
the damage repaired before using the machine again.
• Worn out or damaged components must be replaced
immediately for reasons of safety. Only use original re-
placement parts. Using non-original parts can lead to
defective functioning and injury.
• Only use the shredder in areas in which it is protected
from water. Do not expose the device to rain.
• Store the shredder in a dry and secure location and out
of the reach of children.
• Younger, disabled or frail individuals may not use this
device without supervision.
• Supervise children in the proximity of the device to en-
sure that they do not play with the machine.
5.1 Preparation
• Do not allow children to work with this device.
• Do not use this device in the presence of bystanders.
• Always wear ear and eye protection during operation.
• Avoid wearing loose-itting clothing and clothing with
hanging straps and bands.
• Only use the machine with plenty of open space (e.g.
not next to a wall or other ixed objects) and on a solid,
even surface.
• Do not use the machine on a paved surface or on grav-
el where ejected objects could case injury.
• Before using, check all screws, nuts bolts and other
fastening equipment to ensure that they are secure.
Also check the protection and shielding equipment.
Replace damaged and illegible stickers.
5.2 Operation
• Before activation, inspect the collection container to
ensure that it is empty.
• Do not place your face or body near the feeding funnel.
• Do not place hands, other body parts, or clothing into
the feeding funnel or ejection opening.
• Always place both feet on the ground securely. Do not
bend over the unit. When feeding the machine never
stand higher than the surface on which the machine is
located.
• Always keep clear of the ejection area during operation.
• When adding material thoroughly ensure that there are
no pieces of metal, stones, bottles, cans or other for-
eign objects.
• If the a foreign object ends up in the cutting mecha-
nism or if the machine starts to produce unusual nois-
es or vibrations, shut down the device, wait until the
blade stops, unplug the device from the mains, remove
the sparkplug cable and the sparkplug, and proceed
as follows:
1. Check the damages.
2. Check for loose parts and tighten them.
3. Replace any damaged parts or repair with replace-
ment parts (with the same speciications).
• Do not let the shredded material pile up in the ejection
area. This could prevent proper ejection or cause this
material to recoil through the illing opening.
• If the machine starts to clog, shut it down (unplug the
device from the mains) before ixing the clog. Keep the
power unit free from waste and other build-up to avoid
damage and potential risk of ire. Remember that the
blades continue to operate after the machine is shut
down.
• Keep all protection and shielding equipment in good
condition.
• Do not tinker with the motor controller settings. The
controller regulates the safe maximum speed and pro-
tects the motor and all moving parts from damages
caused by excessive speeds. In the event of an issue,
seek out specialised help.
• Always shut down the shredder (power unit must be
disconnected from the mains) when you leave the
work area.
• Do not tilt the machine when the motor is running.
