3.4 Starting
• Press the primer (X) (if present) with force 3 times (Fig.
17).
• In general priming is not necessary to restart a warm
engine.

The recoil starter handle is positioned at the rear of the
engine.
1. Pull the brake bar towards the handle and hold it in
position when starting the engine. Keep it squeezed
during operation (Fig. 18).
2. Release the break control handle to stop the engine
and blade, thus stopping the lawnmower from operat-
ing.

3. Pull the brake bar towards the handle and pull on the
recoil starter handle to start the engine (Fig. 19).

4. Fit the recoil starter into the rope guide on the right
hand side of the upper handle during operation (Fig.
20).
