13. Inspecting and adjusting the fan
belt
Cautions
●
Be sure to stop the engine.
●
Inspect and adjust the fan belt when the
engine is cold. Otherwise, you may be burnt.
Open the rear cover, push the middle point of the
fan belt by a force of about 10N (1kgf) to check
that the belt deflection is about 4mm, and check
for damage of the belt. If the deflection is not
proper, loosen the alternator tightening bolt and
move the alternator to adjust the belt tension. If
the belt still slips even after the alternator was
moved fully, replace the belt with new one.
14. Cleaning the radiator
Warning
●
Remove debris or grass accumulated inside
or wound over some parts, if any. Particularly,
turf accumulated around the V belt or engine
should be promptly removed. Otherwise, a
fire may be caused.
(1) Open the bonnet.
(2) Pull the lever at the back of the seat and lift
up the seat.
(3) Pull down the front screen frontward.
(4) Remove the grass and other debris. Drop the
dust between the front screen and radiator
from above.
(5) By opening the cover at the bottom of the
radiator, grass or debris can be dropped.
Turf attached to the radiator may cause overheat.
Be sure to inspect and clean before and after
operation. Inspect during the operation also
depending on the operating conditions.
