The device can be damaged by insufficiently tightened M12 connectors.
The IP rating indicated in the data sheet is only guaranteed if the M12 connectors are firmly
screwed.

Screw the M12 connectors tightly to the device according to the instructions in the
corresponding technical data sheet.
For cable lengths longer than 30 m use an additional protection against surge voltages to
IEC 61000-4-5.
7.1 PNP/NPN selection
Pins 2, 4 and 5 can be switched between PNP and NPN logic.
The setting cannot be made for individual pins, but applies to all pins.
