Overview
The Aviant BX Socket 370 is equipped with AMI BIOS, which is stored in Flash
ROM. AMI BIOS features a built-in setup program, allowing users to modify the
system configuration. The system configuration is stored in CMOS RAM so it is
retained during power-off periods. When the computer is turned on, the Aviant BX
Socket 370 communicates with peripheral devices and checks its hardware
resources against the information stored in CMOS memory. If an error is detected
or CMOS parameters need to be initially defined, the diagnostic program will
prompt the user to enter the SETUP program. Some errors will abort the start-up.
The Setup program is for viewing and changing the BIOS settings for a computer.
Setup is accessed by pressing the [F2] key after the POST memory test begins and
before the operating system boot begins.
