7. NORMAL PROCEDURES
The procedures below provide a guide to flight preparation, execution and, moreover, provide a
method to control the efficiency of the aircraft and its systems. The pilot must familiarize and fully
understand these procedures. All the following procedure are made for Ventura
TM
Standard
Configuration with Rotax 912ULS engine. For any other power plant installation, verify the operating
procedure and limitation in the proper engine manual.
7.1. PRE-FLIGHT
NOTE
When it is requested to verify a part: confirm the
absence of cracks, corrosion, deformations, tight
nuts, cotter pins present, rivets or nails intact, etc.
Fuel drain
- Before moving the airplane, PERFORM fuel drain from the collector tank sump (behind main
landing gear, right side). VERIFY fuel clear of deposits and water.
Cabin
- Switches and Magnetos OFF;
- Luggage and various objects in the cabin, SECURED;
- Master switch ON;
- Flap movement and indicator, CHECK;
- Flight controls freedom of movement, CHECK (stick, pedals, throttle);
- Set the Elevator Trim to neutral and CHECK the functionality;
- Reserve indicator, press test button, CHECK;
- Fuel level, CHECK;
- Master switch OFF;
- Front and rear wing-fuselage attachment, CHECK;
- Cotter pins on flight controls (pedals and stick), CHECK;
- Fuel lines, sleeves and joints, CHECK;
- Fuel shut-off valve, OPEN (Verify locking wire).
Engine compartment and propeller
- Remove the upper cowling by unscrewing the DZUS (rapid screw);
- Fuel system lines, CHECK.
