MDC 1.200 system operation
The MDC 1200 sgnalng system enhances your trans-
cever’s capabltes. It allows PTT ID*, Emergency sgnalng,
and recevng Rado Check. Also, the dspatcher can stun
and revve transcevers on the system.
An addtonal feature of MDC 1200 system found n Icom
transcevers s called alasng. Each transcever on the system
has a unque ID number. Alasng allows the substtuton of an
alphanumerc name for ths ID number. For transmt, you can
use ths alas to select a transcever to call. For receve, the
alas of the callng staton s dsplayed nstead of the ID.
* When [PTT] s pushed and/or released, the transcever transmts
your own staton ID.

Receiving an Emergency Call

When an emergency call s receved;
• Beeps sound.
• The callng staton ID (or alas) and “EMG EMG” are dsplayed
alternately.

Turn power OFF, change the channel, push [PTT] for re-
plyng the call, etc. to stop the beep and dsplay ndcaton.

Transmitting an Emergency Call
The MDC 1200 system Emergency feature can be accessed
usng the [Emergency] key (p. 5). The transcever wll send
an Emergency MDC 1200 system command once or repeat-
edly for a programmed number of tmes untl t receves the
acknowledgement sgnal.
The emergency call can be transmtted wthout a beep ems-
son, and the LCD ndcaton change depends on how emer-
gency s programmed. Ask your dealer for detals.

Receiving a Stun and Revive
The dspatcher can send MDC 1200 system sgnals that
wll stun or revve your transcever. If a Stun command s
receved that matches your staton ID, the transcever wll
dsplay “SORRY” (default) and you can not receve or trans-
mt. When a Revve command s receved that matches your
staton ID, normal operaton s restored.
