1. Before powering up your radio, you may want to
make sure the following controls are set in the fol-
lowing positions:
• [AF]
: Commonly referred to as the vol-
ume: fully counter clockwise.
• [NR]
: The noise reduction control: fully
counter clockwise.
• [MIC GAIN]
: The mic gain: fully counter clock-
wise.
• [RF/SQL]
: The control for the RF Gain and
Squelch circuits: 12 o’clock.
• [CW PITCH]
: The control for the CW pitch:
12 o’clock.
• [KEY SPEED] : Internal CW Keyer Speed: fully
counter clockwise
• [NOTCH]
: Control for the manual notch:
12 o’clock
2. Resetting the CPU: Although you have purchased
a brand new radio, some settings may be changed
from the factory defaults during the QC process. So
your radio can start from Factory Defaults resetting
the CPU is necessary.
