3. Programming
The Innovative Controls Electrical Load Manager configurations are all programmed from the front panel
user interface. There are no internal jumpers. A three-digit seven segment display and four LEDs are
used to indicate the status of the load manager to the programmer.
The Electrical Load Manager programming interface.
3.1 PROGRAM Switch
The PROGRAM switch is used in four different programming modes.
1) Holding both the PROGRAM and USER switches for 3 seconds causes the Electrical Load
Manager to go into program mode where the parameters for each load can be configured. The
display will flash “---“ for approximately 1 second to indicate it has entered programming mode
and then “L01” to show that output load 1 has been selected.
2) Holding both the PROGRAM and USER switches for 15 seconds causes the Electrical Load
Manager to load the factory default settings. The display will go to “dEF” to indicate the default
parameters have been loaded.
3) When the loads manager is in programming mode the PROGRAM switch saves the new values
into the Electrical Load Manager’s non-volatile memory. The display will go to “Pro” to indicate
that the new settings have been programmed in to the unit.
3.2 NEXT Switch
The NEXT switch is used to sequence through the selected load outputs and/or system inputs when the
Electrical Load Manager is in either program or polarity adjustment modes. The display will indicate the
selected load output, alarm output, or system input by turning on the corresponding LED and indicating
the operation on the seven-segment display.
1) In programming mode the seven-segment display will cycle from “L01” to “L13” to indicate load
outputs 1 through 13, where load 13 is the user configured variable trip output.
2) In polarity adjustment mode the seven-segment display will cycle from “01x” to “16x” to indicate
load outputs 1 through 13, alarm and fast idle outputs, and the three system inputs, LM Enable,
