address of the appliance. After this association has been made, the installation
process restarts the Web server. The remainder of the session is secured through
the SSL certificate.
4.
Read the Terms of Use agreement. Click the Accept radio button from the
License window to accept the terms. Click Next . The Network Interface
configuration window opens.
5. Provide administrative information for the configured network interface of your
appliance. Enter values for the following fields:
User Name:
The user account for the HostingDirector administrator.
Note:
Provide each appliance with a unique user name account.
Multiple appliances that are managed in a cluster are required to
have unique user names.
Password:
A password for the HostingDirector administrator account. This
password must be 6 - 8 characters in length.
Domain Name:
Domain name used for logging into the management applet. This field
is optional. If this field is left blank, you must use the IP address of the
appliance to log on.
Administrator’s Email:
Email address for the HostingDirector administrator.
Administrator Description:
Optional field for adding a one-line description of the administrator
account. This can include the name and phone number of the
administrator.
Display Language:
Drop-down listbox for selecting a default language for each Virtual
Dedicated Server created within HostingDirector.
6. Click Finish . HostingDirector initializes the configuration information you have
provided into the current working session. After initialization is complete, you
will be directed to the HostingDirector Login window.
Initial HostingDirector configuration is now complete.
HostingDirector Post-Installation Configuration
After you have installed HostingDirector, configure default HostingDirector
settings before using your appliance as a host. You will provide configuration
information for the following four areas:

Usage Data
v
Contact Information
v
DNS Information
v
IP Management
Note: The machine used to access HostingDirector must have a Java-enabled Web
browser.
Complete the following procedures to configure HostingDirector settings (You will
automatically be redirected to the login page for HostingDirector after completing
the installation).
