Monitor Problems

Blank screen.
Verify that:
1. The computer power cord is plugged into the computer and a
working electrical outlet.
2. The monitor is turned on and the Brightness and Contrast
controls are adjusted correctly.
3. The monitor signal cable is securely connected to the monitor
and the monitor connector on the computer. For the location
of the monitor connector, see “External connectors” on
page 14.
If the problem cannot be isolated and corrected, have the monitor
and computer serviced.
Only the cursor
appears.

Wrong characters
appear on the screen.

General Problems
Action
The computer does
not start when you
press the power
switch.
Verify that:
1. The computer power cord is plugged into the computer and a
working electrical outlet.
2. All cables are securely connected to the proper connectors on
the computer. For the location of the connectors, refer to
“External connectors” on page 14.
3. The voltage-selection switch is set to the correct position.
If the problem cannot be isolated and corrected, have the computer
serviced.
