Important!
Note that the starting point for most experiments is the shear stress. Depending on the chan-
nel geometry and the viscosity of the medium, the relation between flow rate and shear stress
is linear, detailed in the formula in
. Thus, after defining the shear stress,
calculate the required flow rate and make sure that the correct flow rate is applied to the slide, by
measuring the flow rate with a stop watch as described in Section
