For Pressure sensitive (PSA) films
A take up (rewind) is required to run PSA films. The take
up pulls the release liner as the laminate is fed into the nip
of the laminator. No heat is required.
INFORMATION: The Take Up Assembly comes
standard on the Patriot 38HC and is optional for the
Patriot 12HR and 25HC.
CAUTION: A carrier of some type (board, roll of
craft paper or a roll mount adhesive) must be used
in conjunction with running PSA films.
1.
Load the roll of PSA laminate onto the upper film supply
shaft so that the substrate side contacts the roller.
2.
Pull the PSA film under the upper idler and up to the
rewind tube.
3.
Secure the film to the rewind tube with a piece of
masking tape.
4.
Roll one complete revolution of film onto the rewind
tube.
CAUTION: Exercise extreme caution when using
an open blade around the laminator. A sharp knife
can cut you and/ or the rollers.
5.
With a knife, score the laminate across the rewind tube.
INFORMATION: The purpose of scoring the
laminate is to separate the film from the release liner.
Do not cut the release liner when scoring.
6.
Pull the laminate away from the release liner and down
towards the lower heat roller. Allow the film to hang in
front of both heat rollers.
