Setup and Connecting the Ibex SUMMIT
Setup of the Summit is very simple and similar to other furnaces. Place the Summit or Summit Press
on a flat, level work surface. The footprint or area required by the Summit is 11
ʺ
on each side. The
height of the Summit is 21
ʺ
while the Summit Press is 25 ½
ʺ
tall. Each requires at least 4
ʺ
of clearance
to allow for proper ventilation of the heat from the muffle chamber.

After situating your Ibex SUMMIT on your work surface, take the 7 ft. AC power cord, and plug the
appropriate plug end into the Ibex SUMMIT Power Receptacle (b). The receptacle is located on the
lower left corner, as viewed from the back of the furnace, just below the ON / OFF switch. The other
end of the power cord is inserted into a standard AC power socket.
NOTE!
It is recommended, for safety reasons, that you do not situate your Ibex SUMMIT near any
materials that can catch fire. Although the surface temperature of the case stays relatively cool, even
during multiple operations, the muffle area operates at high temperatures when idle and the platform
is lowered. This can create a potential fire hazard and is to be avoided.
