Before adjusting the depth of cut, ensure that the saw is facing away
from you. Then:

ADJUSTING THE CUTTING DEPTH
Loosen the depth locking knob (9) on the depth guide.
Hold the base plate flat against the edge of the work piece and
lift the body of the saw until the cutting wheel is at the desired
depth of cut.
Then secure the base by tightening the depth locking knob.

The Saw can be adjusted to cut at angles between 0° and 45°.
Always make a trial cut in a scrap piece of material along a guide-
line to determine how much you should offset the cutting wheel
from the guideline to make an accurate cut.
For cleaner, safer cuts,
keeping blade friction to a minimum,
removing saw-dust from between the blade teeth, cooler and
faster sawing; Set depth of cut so that no more than one
blade tooth projects below work piece. Using proper cut
depth helps to reduce potential for dangerous kickbacks
which can cause personal injury.
