stops the tool from operating (similar to that of the overload
condition). When this condition occurs you will need to
either insert another battery into the tool or recharge the
existing battery.
The low voltage cut out feature has been added to maximise
the tools life. When this occurs, recharge the battery pack by
following the battery charging section in this manual.
Note:
Attempting to restart the tool without either recharging
the battery or installing another battery (with charge) will
lead to the tool restarting and then stopping again, after only
a few seconds of operation.
Worklight indicator
The LED worklight (10), located
on the front of the tool, will
illuminate when the switch is
in “On” position. This provides
additional light on the surface
of the workpiece for operation
in lower-light areas. The LED
worklight will turn off when the
switch is in “Off” position.
Rechargeable
battery capacity
display
If the on/off switch is forward,
the rechargeable battery display
indicates the charging status of
the rechargeable battery:
3 LEDs light up:
The rechargeable battery is fully charged
2 LEDs light up:
The rechargeable battery is half charged
1 LED lights up:
Charging of the rechargeable battery
required
Note:
For safety reasons, when you slide the switch to “On”
position to check the charge condition you should pay more
attention to the accessory equipped on the tool such as
blade, it can injure you.
Operating tips
•
Do not cover off the venting slots 6 of the tool while
working, as this reduces the working life of the tool.
•
Due to the oscillating drive the application tool/accessory
swings up to 15000 times per minutes for 2.8°. This
allows for precise work in narrow spaces.
Sawing
•
Use undamaged faultless saw
blades only. Deformed, blunt
saw blades or saw blades that
are otherwise damaged can
break.
•
Securely clamp the workpiece.
Draw the cutting lines on the
workpiece. Apply the blade to the workpiece. Switch on
the tool and apply appropriate pressure to make the cut.
•
When sawing light building materials, observe the
statutory provisions and the recommendations of the
material suppliers.
•
Plunge cuts may only be applied to soft materials, such
as wood, gypsum plaster boards, etc. Before starting
the tool, draw the cutting lines on the workpiece, put the
blade along the line, then switch on the tool and apply
with appropriate pressure until the blade cuts to the depth
needed.
Note:
Before sawing with HCS saw blades in wood, particle
board, building materials etc, check these for foreign objects
such as nails, screws or similar. If required remove foreign
objects or use other type saw blades which suitable for this
material.
Separating
•
When using with carbide circular blade, first draw the
cutting lines on the workpiece, place the carbide circular
blade against the workpiece at a 90°angle, switch on the
tool cut out the grout around the wall tile, then use a hand
chisel to remove the tile.
•
When using with carbide triangular rasp, first draw the
cutting lines on the workpiece, put the rasp flat against
the workpiece and apply appropriate pressure, then
switch on the tool remove any hardened adhesive or
grout on the surface of the wall tiles.
Note:
When separating wall tiles take into consideration that
the application tools/accessories wear heavily when used
for longer periods of time.
Sanding
•
The removal rate and the
sanding pattern are primarily
determined by the choice of
sanding paper, the preset
oscillation rate and the applied
pressure.
•
Only flawless sanding papers
achieve good sanding capacity
and extend the service life of the tool.
•
Pay attention to apply uniform sanding pressure,
this increase the working life of the sanding paper.
Intensifying the sanding pressure does not lead to an
increase of the sanding capacity, but to increased wear of
the tool and the sanding paper.
•
For precise on-the-spot sanding of edges, corners and
hard to reach areas, it is also possible to work only with
the tip or an edge of the sanding plate.
•
When selectively sanding on the spot, the sanding paper
can heat up considerable. Reduce the orbital stroke rate
and allow the sanding paper to cool down regularly.
•
A sanding paper that has been used for metal should not
be used for other materials.
•
Use only original sanding paper. For rough sanding use
60 or 80 grit paper, for smooth sanding use 150 grit
sanding paper.
Scraping
•
For scraping, select a high
oscillation rate.
•
Scrape on a soft surface
(e.g. wood) at a flat range,
and apply only light pressure.
Otherwise the scraper can cut
into the surface.
•
To cut and remove carpet,
place the scraper blade vertically on the workpiece,
switch on the tool, and cut the carpet. Then place the
scraper blade between the carpet and the floor to the
covering and adhesive residue off.
Maintenance
WARNING:
To avoid serious personal injury, always remove
the battery pack from the tool when cleaning or performing
any maintenance.
WARNING:
When servicing, use only identical replacement
parts. Use of any other parts may create a hazard or cause
product damage. To ensure safety and reliability, all repairs
should be performed by a qualified service technician.
WARNING:
It is not recommended to use compressed
dry air as cleaning method of the tool. If cleaning with
compressed air is the only method available, always wear
safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields when
using compressed air to clean the tool. If the operation is
dusty, also wear a dust mask.
General maintenance
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most
plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of
commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use.
Use clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.
For safe and proper working, always keep the tool and the
ventilation slots clean. Clean application tools (accessory)
regularly with a wire brush.
WARNING:
Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline,
petroleum-based products, penetrating oils, etc. to come in
