DISPLAy ON PLANT SENSOR/SOIL MOISTURE SENSOR
The plant sensor transmits on a frequency of 433 MHz. Under optimal conditions in an open
space the transmission range from the plant sensor to the base station can be up to 30m. The
transmission range is reduced by doors, windows and walls. When you have selected a chan
-
nel and inserted a battery (channel 1 for the first plant sensor, for further plant sensors select
channcl 2 and 3, etc), the plant sensor begins with the measurement and transmission of the
moisture values. In the plant sensor display the moisture level is shown in the form of a bar dia
-
gram in steps from 1= DRY to 4 = WET (very damp).
In the event that transmission does not occur automatically press the ALARM ON/OFF key on
the plant sensor. The red LED flashes momentarily.
For the plant sensor with channcl 1 the base station display indicates the channel by 1. For
plant sensors for which you have selected channels 2 or 3 the base station display indicates
channel 2 or 3 respectively.
Without disturbing the leaves place the plant sensor in the soil around the plant, so that the hou
-
sing of the plant sensor can be clearly seen. When watering ensure that only the soil is moiste
-
ned, not the plant sensor.
The plant sensor requires 15-30 minutes to determine the soil moisture level. If the plant sensor
detects soil that is too dry (1 bar), an alarm tone sounds.
SWITCH SIGNAL TONE ON OR OFF
Note that the signal tone is factory activated. This means that the signal tone sounds as soon
as the batteries are inserted. You can turn off this signal tone by pressing and holding down (for
approx. five seconds) the ALARM ON/OFF key. The red LED on the front panel flashes twice
briefly. To re-switch on the acoustic alarm press and hold down the ALARM ON/OFF for five
seconds. A short alarm tone sounds twice, the red LED flashes twice. Every time the plant sen
-
sor sends a signal to the base station the red LED flashes
