Sonata Hybrid Identification

High-Voltage Battery Vents

The battery venting is located

inside the trunk.

Ambient air is drawn into the battery pack

through an inlet on the top side of the pack. The

duct’s inlet is on the rear package tray, which is

visible through the rear window. Air is pushed out

through a duct that exits to the exterior through a

vent in the left rear wheelwell opening. This vent

is not easily seen or accessible to emergency

responders.
