TINES
CAUTION
You MUST stop the engine and allow the tines to come to a full stop and remove the
spark plug HT lead cap before beginning to change the tines.
6.25
Among the most critical elements of the tiller is the tines.
It is also subject to the most damage and wear.
During the course of tilling, the tines make contact with roots and other abrasives
such as dirt, stones and occasionally large rocks or buried scrap.
The loss of and wear of the tines will significantly impair the condition of all the tines
so they will need replacing as required.
GEARBOX OIL
NOTE
This tiller requires SAE15W40 Gearbox Oil.
6.26
The gearbox oil should be checked every 3 months and be topped up as required.
6.27
The machine
MUST
be on a flat and level surface.
6.28
To top up with oil, undo the gearbox oil bolt and check that the oil is to the top of the
thread.
6.29
If required, fill with oil until the oil just begins to run out of the hole.
CLEANING
CAUTION
NEVER
use a pressure washer or hose pipe to clean the machine. Water can
penetrate the power unit and cause damage to the engine.
6.30
Check and clean the air filter intakes using a soft brush.
6.31
Check and clear the engine cooling fins with a soft brush.
6.32
Wipe the outside of the machine with a damp cloth, do not use any detergents as
this can damage the plastics.
STORAGE & TRANSPORTATION
6.33
Allow the tiller to cool for at least 15 minutes before storing.
