Make sure the lift chains are adjusted so that they
have equal tension. If the chains need to be replaced or
adjusted, it must be done by authorized personnel.
Reach, Tilt and Sideshift
If the reach mechanism is retracted it will be necessary to
extend the mechanism to make the following checks.
WARNING
Make sure the key switch is in the OFF position and the
key is removed from the switch before doing this
check.
1.
Check for cracks at the welds on the reach frames and
scissor arms.
2.
Check the frame channel for excessive wear in the
areas of roller contact. Check the rollers for wear or
damage.
3.
Check the load backrest extension for cracks and
damage. Make sure that the nuts and bolts for the load
backrest extension are tight.
Articulation Stop Adjustment
The articulation stop screws must be adjusted to the proper
setting as listed on the nameplate and in the Articulation
Chart, at the following times:
1.
Every 350 hours during routine maintenance.
2.
When a drive and/or caster wheel is changed.
3.
When any repairs are carried out on the articulation
axle.
