OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
INITIAL IGNITING
These instructions should be followed the first time the grill is ignited, and each time the grill runs out of
pellets in the hopper
1) Open the grill lid and take out the smoke shelf, porcelain-coated grill grate, slide heat baffle and grease
drain pan from your grill.
2) Ensure the switch is in the OFF(O) position. Plug the power cord into an appropriate grounded
electrical outlet.
3) Open the pellet hopper lid and locate the auger. Make sure there are no foreign objects in the auger
tube. Turn the switch ON (I) and turn the temperature dial to SMOKE. Make sure the auger is turning
inside of the pellet hopper.
4) Check that there is air movement from the draft inducer fan by placing your fingers over the burn-pot.
DO NOT place your hand or fingers inside the fire-pot. This can cause injury. If the hot rod is getting hot,
it will turn red. CAUTION! Do not touch the hot rod. Turn the temperature dial to Shut Down Cycle.
5) Load the pellet hopper with dry, all natural hardwood pellets.Turn the temperature dial to HIGH. When
the wood pellets start to fall into the fire-pot, turn the temperature dial to Shut Down Cycle.
6) Turn the temperature dial to SMOKE and let the hot rod ignite the wood pellets. Once you see flames
come out of the fire-pot, turn the temperature dial to Shut Down Cycle and switch to OFF(O). Let your
pellet grill cool down.
7) Place the grease drain pan, the heat baffle and porcelain-coated grill grates back into the grill.
8) Turn the switch ON(O) and temperature dial to SMOKE with grill lid open. In about 2 minutes you will
notice whitish-gray smoke coming out of your pellet grill as the wood pellets ignited. Close the grill lid
and turn the temperature dial to HIGH for 30-40 minutes to burn-off the grill and rid it of any foreign
matter. Then turn the temperature dial to any temperature desired and enjoy cooking.
