Preparing the unit for operation
Setting up the unit
Observe the following notices for setting up the unit.
NOTICE
There is a risk of the unit falling over or slipping away due to
vibration
The unit will be damaged
►
Before starting it up, put the unit on a stable, horizontal surface.
Take the following steps to prepare the unit for operation:
1. Check that the power supply cable is undamaged. Replace damaged
cables immediately.
2. Check that the suction and pressure hoses are undamaged. Replace
damaged hoses immediately.
3. Check the ambient and fluid temperature.
4. Clean the suction strainer. See page 46 for details.
5. Before each use, compare the type of oil in the unit with the type of oil
to be pumped. If you are not sure what sort of oil is in the pump, or if
you would like to pump a different type of oil to that previously pumped,
completely empty the unit and replace the filter element.
6. Only for the OF7K version
Fill the filter cartridge at least halfway with the fluid to be pumped to
ensure protection from dry-running.
7. Please note the following steps to connect the motor-pump assembly.
Beware that if the unit is stored or operated on bright, sensitive
surfaces for long periods, the plasticizers of the rubber feet can
leave behind visible traces.
Connecting the motor-pump group
Depending on the version, the filtration unit has different drive motors
(electrical or pneumatic). Note the following chapter for information on
connecting the filtration unit.
