17.4.45 Assembling the countershaft

Use new lock rings with every repair.
Preparatory work

Lubricate all parts carefully before assembling.

Check the transmission. ( a p. 221)

Secure the countershaft in the bench vise with the toothed end facing downward.

Use soft jaws.

Mount needle bearing
