REAR SUSPENSION
Ed. 05-2011
Rear suspension
The rising-rate rear suspension is made up of a shock absorber, a linkage system
and a swinging arm. The spring preload of the shock absorber can be adjusted
to suit riding and terrain conditions.
Periodically check all components for wear.
Type of suspension
Steel swinging arm suspension with hydraulic single shock absorber. Swing-
ing arm shaft is fitted on chassis side and swinging arm pivots onto shaft; this
system ensures bike greater stability. The shock absorber, driven by a series of
progressive link rods (SOFT DAMP), features a spring preload adjuster based
on the weight and on the type of terrain.
