Centrifugal clutch
Dismantle the clutch shoes from the hub.
Dismantle the clutch shoes from the hub
using a small screwdriver or a pointed
tool.
Check for wear on the friction lining.
Replace worn or damaged components.
Check the friction linings for wear. The
thickness must not be less than 1.3 mm.
NOTE!
Both clutch shoes should be
replaced even if only one of them is
showing signs of heavy wear. This is
to avoid engine vibration caused by
imbalance in the clutch.
Assembly
Check that the clutch springs are not dam-
aged, e.g. cracks.
Assemble the clutch in the reverse order
as set out for dismantling.
The key grip on the clutch must face in
toward the crankcase.
Clutch drum
Remove the cutting knives and the con-
tents of the gear housing.
Clutch drum
To dismantle the clutch drum, the cutting
knives and gear housing contents must be
removed fi rst (see also the ”Cutting deck”
chapter).
Remove the 4 screws (A) holding together
the cutting knives the bar and the knife
protector (remove the nuts fi rst).
Remove the 7 screws and lift off the cover
(B).
Assembly
Check that the clutch springs are not dam-
aged, e.g. cracks.
Assemble the clutch in the reverse order
as set out for dismantling.
Dismantle the clutch drum.
Dismantle the clutch drum.
Lock the gear wheel with the 576 95 41-01
tool and loosen the clutch drum
clockwise
(left hand threads) using the 576 95 40-01
tool.
Remove the clutch drum and the sprocket
shaft
