General Information

In addition to providing standard Page/Party

®

 operation, the Model 701-804 SmartSeries

®

Handset/Speaker Amplifier with Auxiliary Jack supports the attachment of an auxiliary headset and
serves as a control interface to devices such as the relay module in a remote terminal unit (RTU)
enclosure.

 

Application

 

The Model 701-804 SmartSeries

®

 Handset/Speaker Amplifier is intended for use with a GAI-Tronics

enclosure to provide an intelligent handset for use on the GAI-Tronics multi-party system cable (system
cable) in either a standard Page/Party

®

 system or an ADVANCE system.  It includes a micro-controller

that can perform the following functions:

 

Page and party from the integral handset or an auxiliary headset connected to the front panel

 

Monitor and control the handset and auxiliary connections

 

Supervise the local speaker

 

Measure the ambient noise and adjust the speaker output level

 

Transfer data messages and audio on the system cable

 

Support an optional SmartSeries

®

 RTU, which monitors and supervises input and output devices
