Installation Reference
Installing the RTN 380H
Install an outdoor fiber.
3.1. Tie an outdoor binding strap to the end of the
waterproof socket.
3.2. Lead the outdoor fiber through the waterproof
socket and expose the LC/PC connector (for
details, see the appendix).
3.3. Connect the LC/PC connector labeled "To: RRU "
to the GE(o)/COMBO port of the RTN 380H.
3.4. Secure the waterproof socket on the
GE(o)/COMBO port of the RTN 380H.
2. Hoist the outdoor fiber to the installation position.
Connect the connector labeled "To: RRU" on the
outdoor fiber to the GE(o)/COMBO port on the RTN
380H.
3. Connect the outdoor fiber to the GE(o)/COMBO port.
It is recommended that you connect the outdoor
fiber to the GE(o) port. However, if two GE
optical services need to be transmitted, the
COMBO port is used.
Tie
Tying an outdoor binding strap to the
end of a waterproof socket prevents the
socket from slipping.
After the PGND cable is installed, apply anti-seize
grease to the ground nut and ground point.
Ground screw
Remove the anticorrosion paint and
oxide layer at the ground point. After
the connection is complete, waterproof
and rustproof the ground point.
Install the base of
ground clip.
PGND cable
Install the PGND cable of the RTN 380H.

1. Insert the SFP optical module into the
GE(o)/COMBO port. The port provides mis-insertion
prevention function. If you feel resistance in inserting
the module, rotate it and insert again.
Install the GE cable. The GE cable connected to the P&E port
is also used for providing power of Ethernet.
Insert the connector until it clicks into place.
Install a GE cascade
fiber.

For moistureproof measures, see
the appendix.
1. Unscrew the PG cover installed on port COMBO(e)/P&E of
the RTN 380H using a 1.8 N•m torque wrench (rotating the
wrench counterclockwise).
2. Attach a cable tie to the network cable to prevent the PG
cover from sliding down.
3/4. Route the network cable through the PG cover and
connect the cable to port COMBO (e)/P&E of the RTN 380H.
5/6. Insert the plug of the network cable into port COMBO
(e)/P&E and screw the PG cover.
