Architecture
2.1 Overview
The DBS3800 has a modular design. It consists of the BBU3806/BBU3806C and the
RRU3801C/RRU3804/RRU3801E/RRU3808.
The power and number of carriers of each RRU are different. The RRU3808 supports 2T2R,
but other types of RRUs support 1T2R.
The DBS3800 supports the maximum configuration of 3 x 4 or 6 x 2.
N x M = sector x carrier, for example, 3 x 1 configuration indicates that each of the three sectors has one
carrier.
2.2 Hardware Architecture
2.2.1 BBU3806
The BBU3806 is a baseband unit.
The BBU3806 implements the following functions:
Transmitting signals between the NodeB and the RNC
Providing the reference clock
Managing the entire NodeB in a centralized manner in terms of OM and signaling
processing
Providing an OM channel for connection to the LMT or M2000
The BBU3806 has a case structure with all external ports on the front panel.
Figure 2-1 shows the BBU3806.
