The VIS6000 supports Gigabit Ethernet (GE) port modules and Fiber Channel (FC) port modules.
With full configuration, the VIS6000 can be configured with six port modules:
●
Two FC port m four GE port modules
●
Four FC port m two GE port modules
●
Six GE port modules
The VIS6000 provides ten interface cards with five on each side. The interface cards are numbered. The
numbers are 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4 from top to bottom. The interface cards that are numbered 0, 1, and 2 are
used for carrying port modules. The interface cards that are numbered 3 and 4 are used for carrying
system disks.
The FC port module and GE port module can be installed in the slots of the interface card without
restriction. The FC port module or the GE port module can be installed in slot 0,1, or 2.
According to the actual application environment choose the types and numbers of port modules. If the
interface card does not carry port modules, use a filler panel to hide the interface card. The controller A
and B must carry port modules in the same mode. The sequence of port modules on each side in the
VIS6000 must be consistent. In this way, the 1+1 redundant backup can be achieved.
