Checking the Airflow
Airflow is provided by four chassis cooling fans. The system component layout was designed to
direct sufficient cooling to the components that generate the most heat. Perform the following
checks to maintain proper airflow:
•
Ensure that there are no objects to obstruct airflow in and out of the server.
•
If you are using a front bezel, ensure that the bezel’s filter is replaced periodically.
•
Do not operate the server without drives or drive trays in the drive bays.
•
Use only recommended server parts.
•
Ensure that no wires or foreign objects obstruct airflow through the chassis.
Pull all excess cabling out of the airflow path or use shorter cables.
