
The following tables explain the individual items for each of the submenus in the Security
group.

This password prevents unauthorized use of your
computer, protects the data stored in it, and preserves
the preferences you set. The user password can be up to
32 characters and capitalization is not important. ('T' is

Keyboard Lock Timer
[Off]
Past the time specific in minutes without touching any
key, your keyboard will be automatically locked and
remain locked until you enter the user or the
administrator password.

Power-on Password
[At Start-up]
Enables the PC to start either with prompting for
a password (at start-up), with keyboard
locked**, or with no protection. Works only if a
password is enabled.
Minimum Admin Password

The minimum number of characters the user
must enter in order to set an administrator
password (in a range from 8 to 16).
Minimum User Password

The minimum number of characters the user
must enter in order to set an administrator
password (in a range from 8 to 16).
Maximum Number of Attempts

The maximum number of times the user can try
to enter a password (1,2,3,4,5,Infinitte).
Lock Time Between Attempts
[None]
The amount of time which can elapse between
two consecutive password entry attempts.
Besides "None", the choice is "Exponential" —
which means the elapsed time between each
failed attempt increases.

**The option "Keyboard Locked" is only supported by Windows 3.11 and Windows 95.
